Invented by an American pastry chef he forgot to put the yeast on a chocolate cake, this dessert has been improved to meet with the current form. In addition to the traditional brownie, there are many variations on this dessert, which we bring to you today, the lemon brownie.

Option 1: lemon Brownie

Ingredients:

  • 200 g pastry flour
  • 175 g butter
  • Three large eggs
  • 175 g sugar
  • 1 lemon for grating
  • 40 ml of condensed milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • Salt

  • Preheat the oven to 180 ° C and grease a baking with butter.
  • Take the sugar, flour and salt in a large bowl. Stir everything to mix well, better using some rods. Book.
  • In another separate bowl, put the butter slightly melted, add the eggs, condensed milk, squeezed lemon juice, the grated peel of lemon and a bit of vanilla extract.
  • Stir vigorously with a rod to mix all the ingredients so that they are well integrated, forming a homogeneous mass and uniform.
  • Add to this mass mixture the flour, little by little and without stirring until a dough that is not too thick and not have lumps.
  • Pour batter into previously greased pan and bake it at 180 ° C for about 25-30 minutes. On the outside must be a crispy crust and the inside should be soft.

Option 2: lemon Brownie

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:
  • ½ Cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ Cup flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
For glaze:
  • 4 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of icing sugar

Procedure:

Brownie:
  • Preheat the oven to 176 ° C and grease with butter baking of 20 × 20 cm approximately.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk flour, sugar, salt and butter softened at room temperature, until they form a homogeneous mixture.
  • Separately, mix the eggs, zest and lemon juice, until well incorporated.
  • Add the egg mixture to the flour and beat with a mixer until a smooth and creamy dough forms.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
Glaze:
  • Sift the icing sugar and beat with the lemon juice until a dough forms.
  • Spread the glaze over the brownies with a spatula.

Option 3: lemon Brownie

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:
  • 100 g flour
  • 170 g sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 150 g butter
  • 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
For lemon glaze:
  • 4 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 8 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1 cup of icing sugar

Procedure:

Brownie:
  • Preheat the oven to 180 ° C and grease a baking with butter.
  • Grate the skin of lemons, make juice with them and set aside.
  • Mix the flour, sugar, salt and butter softened at room temperature with the mixer.
  • In another separate bowl, mix eggs, zest and lemon juice, until a uniform mix.
  • Add this mixture to the flour and beat for two minutes on speed media, until it is soft and creamy.
  • Pour into baking pan and bake for 23 to 25 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  • Let cool completely before covering it with the glaze.
Glaze:
  • Sift the icing sugar and beat together with the lemon juice and scratching.
