The American cabbage or coleslaw salad is the perfect companion for chickens and meats. Of American origin this salad is basic in any kitchen and we see it often on the menus of fast-food restaurants by the simplicity of its preparation.
Cabbage, also called in many countries cabbage is a vegetable with properties diuretic, therefore their intake is recommended for diets aimed at eliminating the retention of fluids of the body. In addition, the cabbage is anti-inflammatory and acts as a natural antacid.
The carrot and cabbage make a good team in this dish which can well be garnish with mayonnaise or a healthier with a yogurt or sweet mustard dressing. Recipe 1: American coleslaw (light)

Ingredients:

  • ½ kilo of raw white cabbage, finely chopped
  • Three shredded carrots or chopped very fine
  • 100 ml natural yogurt .

  • The juice of half a lemon
  • Salt and pepper

  • Mix them with the ¼ cup diced onion.
  • Make the dressing together the oil, vinegar, mustard and honey. Season with salt and pepper and add to the cabbage salad for Eastern results.
  • At the time of serving, add chopped peanuts over the salad so that the dish is crunchy.

Recipe 3: American cabbage and strawberries salad

MAYONESA-LIGHT

Ingredients:

  • ½ kg of white cabbage very finely chopped

  • 6 strawberries
  • Homemade mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation:

  • In a bowl, pour the cabbage previously cut.
