Venezuelan cheese

Venezuelan cheese is a kind of homemade caramel flan . A soft, crumbly and egg flan-like texture is. This traditional dessert is produced in a typical aluminum Tin of Venezuela, but can be used in a pan, pot or normal saucepan with lid.
You need patience and delicacy to make this dessert, but it is very simple, and it will be super. As a good homemade flan , you can serve Venezuelan cheese as a dessert or snack with a good coffee.

Venezuelan cheese recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 small Tin of condensed milk
  • Whole milk (the same amount of condensed milk)
  • 1 tablespoon of liquid vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon rum (optional)

How to prepare

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Turn the kitchen over medium heat and pour the sugar in a saucepan.
  • Add the water and stir with a spoon. Continue stirring until it reaches a brown color and texture of honey. At this point, cover the mold or small flan with candy molds.
  • Permeates all the mould (bottom and sides) with caramel.
  • Put the rest of the ingredients in the blender or standing Blender: eggs, vanilla, rum, condensed milk and whole milk. To measure the amount of milk, use the empty can of condensed milk. Beat at maximum speed for 20 seconds.

Place in the fridge and let it cool down for at least 6 hours. Enjoy!

Venezuelan cheese in pressure cooker

  • If you do not have or do not want to cook in the oven, you can use the pressure cooker to cook the Venezuelan cheese and that it is equally delicious.

You can also add a touch of coffee to this delicious dessert, developed as the previous recipe, but using these ingredients: 

Ingredients for cheese coffee

  • 1 medium Tin of condensed milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup of coffee without sugar and pure
  • A touch of vanilla to taste

Preparation

  • Sugar and water are the ingredients of the candy. Make it as described above.
  • Mixture, whisk the remaining ingredients, pour the mixture over the cooled liquid candy and permeates the pot or the container that you are using.
