Secure all know waffles them, these dumplings with square holes that are eaten hot with cream and chocolate melted on top. Mmmm, as to make your mouth water to anyone. Well, it turns out that these buns also can be savory, with cheese, ham or what you can think of. So here we give several recipes delicious to make waffles, pizza or waffle.

Option 1: waffle pizza


  • 400 g flour
  • 1 packet yeast (Royal type)
  • 1 teaspoon full of salt.
  • 1 tsp oregano (more oregano extra to sprinkle on top)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder.
  • 4 large eggs.
  • 30 g honey (can substitute for sugar)
  • 100 g melted butter .
  • Mild olive oil.
  • 50 g milk.
  • Tomato sauce.
  • 150 g bacon strips.
  • 150-200 g grated mozzarella cheese.


  • Mix dry ingredients (flour, yeast, salt, oregano and garlic powder) with a rod so that between the air.
  • In the bowl of the mixer, mix the eggs, honey (or sugar) the butter, oil, milk and tomato. Add the mixture to the bowl of flour and blend well until a thick puree.
  • Add the bacon and mix with a spatula. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the waffle iron and go putting the dough. Let that golden brown and remove them to a baking tray. Cover with grated cheese and sprinkle with oregano.
  • Gratin in the oven.
  • They can also be prepared in advance and Browning them just before serving.

Option 2: savory waffles


  • 500 g flour medium strength (can be with 250 g of loose flour and 250 g of flour strength).
  • 30 g sugar.
  • 10 g salt
  • 25 g fresh yeast
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • 250 g milk
  • 100 g butter.


  • Mix the flour with the salt and sugar.
  • Undo the yeast in a little warm milk.
  • Mix the dough with egg and beat with mixer about 10 minutes, until the mixture pulls away from the walls and is shiny and silky.
  • Spread the dough on a tray lined with baking paper, cover with film ice cream or with a damp cloth and allow to stand for one hour.
  • After this time, turn the waffle iron until it is very hot. Place in the waffle maker, previously sprayed with vegetable spray or liquid butter. Close and boil for 5 to 10 minutes.

Option 3: savory waffles with sauce and egg


For the waffles:
  • 115 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 160 ml buttermilk
  • 40 ml of olive oil
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • ½ TSP of baking soda
  • ½ TSP of salt
  • 1 tsp of sugar.
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
For the sauce:
  • 1 onion (about 200 g)
  • 1-3 piquillo peppers
  • 2 ripe red tomatoes
  • 1 garlic or garlic
  • 1 small teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste (or a chilli)
  • 200 ml of tomato puree
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Sugar


  • Peel and chop the onion, tomatoes and peppers of piquillo peppers into small cubes and chop the garlic into thin slices.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, saute the garlic and onions with a pinch of salt. When tender and begins to color, add the pepper and let it FRY for a few minutes.
  • Add the tomato and saute until it is softened, place the crushed tomatoes, a pinch of salt, the same amount of sugar, oregano and freshly ground pepper. Cook over medium heat until the liquid has evaporated. Book.
  • Mix in a bowl the flour, yeast, salt and pepper. In another bowl mix the liquid ingredients.
  • To make buttermilk, mix as well as 20 minutes before cooking, warm the milk with lemon juice. Cover and leave to stand.
  • Once mixed liquids, add the parsley and stir. Put the solids to liquid mixture and mix until completely blended.
  • Prepare the waffle maker and pour batter into the holes.
  • Fry the eggs.
  • On each waffle place several spoonfuls of sauce and an egg fried over.
