Strawberry: A tasty wild fruit

Strawberry is the fruit of the plant fragaria, commonly known as Strawberry seedlings. This healthy and rich fruit is ideal to finish our meals either alone or accompanied by yogurt. Being a very tasty fruit contains fewer calories and many vitamins, making it a very timely fruit for slimming diets.
There are many varieties of strawberries that you can take and are produced mainly in the US and Spain, enjoying great popularity the latter.

There are many reasons that can lead us to make strawberries, one of them is its excellent taste. Strawberry is sweet but provides few calories, in addition to hydrate ourselves both inside and out because of their high water content. Some of its most interesting properties are:

  • They have historically been used as an aphrodisiac because of its red color and its vitamin C, which stimulates the nervous system and clean the mouth.
  • It is a very light fruit with 85% water.
  • Gives us vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6.

Strawberries are very versatile and allow us to incorporate them in a lot of recipes. Alone or with whipped cream tend to be the most typical recipes, but there are many more. If you want a lighter dessert, we buy low fat cream and pour it in a bowl with strawberries cut and peeled. You will only need to put them in the refrigerator and allow to stand. To start the day we can take jam to celebrate the birthday a good strawberry cheesecake and strawberries.
Strawberries should be kept in a place in the shade and protect them from moisture. The best time to take them is from March until late may, when are sweeter. When choosing them, not must look both in its size with its color. Best strawberries aren't the biggest, but the brightest. Their regular consumption is highly recommended especially for those who suffer from arthritis or rheumatism. Your intake would not only appreciate our palate as also our body.
